I definitely agree that Digimon is more serious than Pokemon is. Never in Pokemon was I ever worried about the characters being badly hurt or the world being destroyed, even in the movies. In Digimon, especially after the "deaths" of Angemon, Wizardmon, and some other characters I was always afraid someone else would be killed off. And, even though at first it appears that only the Digital World is in danger, when it's revealed that the real world and the Digital World are connected, you begin to care more about the kids succeeding in defeating the villains. Also, at least in the first season....the villains are 100x more threatening than Team Rocket. Devimon, All the Forms of Myotismon, MetalSeadramon, Puppetmon, Machindramon, Piedmon, and Apoclymon are all very threatening villains.

As for the movie itself...I believe the first part was very boring for the first part excepting the battle, Our War Game was totally awesome, and the final part was great except for the strange Duex Ex Machina of Patamon and Gatomon being able to create the Golden Digi-Eggs when they digivolve into their Mega-Forms.

Also...I wish they did mention what would have happened if Diaboromon's egg hadn't been attacked by the virus. Maybe he would have been the same species of Digimon, but not evil. After all, in Season Three, we see some Diaboromon who are apparently going to HELP SAVE the Digital World.

Diaboromon is scary...very much so. Especially when he's cloned himself. I mean...imagine being in a room where the entire room---floor, ceiling, and walls----is covered by cockroaches. Even if you don't have a fear of bugs, that would be creepy.

While I do agree that Omnimon is the epitome of awesomeness (Let's Kick It Up is the coolest battle theme I've ever heard in a movie)...what level is he supposed to be? If two Megas digivolve together...are they an Ultimatium? An Alpha-Level?

To explain the Kokomon thing...Willis didn't know what his Digimon was at that point. It didn't talk except for small phrases ("Go back" "Go back to the beginning" "Think again") and "Willis". Willis just refers to the Digimon as Kokomon because that was what he knew the Digimon as, seeing how that was its form before it digivolved.

NegaCherubimon (the evil version of Cherubimon) is also very, very creepy. I mean, he's like the Digimon the Joker would have! The fact that he plays with the Digimon (juggling them) before he actually tries to kill them.

Finally...I have one gripe concerning the continuity between the series and the movie. How come Kokomon was able to be revived after being killed in the real world, but Wizardmon remained dead?

As somebody who knows absolutely nothing about Digimon, I actually found this to be an entertaining and enlightening review. Doesn't get me any closer to watching it (my anime tastes fall closer to Studio Ghibli rather than the various -mon cartoons), but it was a very well-done review, nonetheless, and your funniest yet.

I've been into Digimon since mid 2000. It's very cool. I have seen all 5 series.

Now for Digimon the movie, I never did get a chance to see it in theatres. It was all right for me. But 3 years later, I have seen the Japanese versions of the movies as well. Yep, they were superior. I enjoyed the 3rd movie even more. I still have these on a CD.

This was also a interesting review, too. Albiet burst out of Mimi. Somehow, I understand how you hate her.

I haven't read your Digimon Heroes yet, but I probably will soon.
