Requests for Mr. Coat

Postby Daikun » Sun Dec 20, 2009 7:49 am

I'm surprised there isn't a thread for this yet.

Does anyone have any ideas on what That Fellow can cover in future episodes?

I'd personally be interested to see a retrospective on the Cartoon Cartoons, Cartoon Network's counterpart for the Nicktoons. It's a shame they didn't last as long; the Fridays block was cancelled in 2007 while the Nicktoons continue to thrive after nearly two decades on the air. Not counting the Warner Bros. Animation shows which would join the block halfway through its lifespan (starting in 2003), only 16 original series were actually considered part of the Cartoon Cartoons canon.

It's not a bad idea, though I don't love the Cartoon Cartoons as much as, say, the Disney Afternoon shows or the Warner Brothers Animation shows. In regards to these shows:

The Cartoon Cartoon Show - I've only seen small segments, most notably the Craig McCracken and Seth McFarlance shorts.
Dexter's Lab - One of my top 30 greatest animated series. Big fan of it.
Johnny Bravo - I don't think I quite got it when I was younger, but now I think it's very funny.
Cow and Chicken - The opposite for this one. I used to really like it when I was younger, but now, I don't like it at all.
I Am Wiesel - See above.
The Powerpuff Girls - I did all a whole video on this show, so you already know my thoughts.
Ed, Edd & Eddy - Never watched it.
Mike, Lu & Ogg - Never watched it.
Courage the Cowardly Dog - Watched it, enjoyed it.
Sheep in the Big City - Watched it, enjoyed it, but it seemed to disappear off of the schedule really quickly.
I never paid attention to Time Squad, Grim & Evil, Billy & Mandy, Robot Jones and Evil Con Garne (never even heard of those last two). I already gave my thoughts on Codename: Kids Next Door in my Modern Cartoons Rant video and as you can tell, I dislike it.

So, a retrospective of Cartoon Cartoons isn't out of the questions, but I'm rather mixed on the quality of their cartoons, you see.

Well Mr. Fellow, I have some ideas of episodes you might want to consider:

-A Tribute to Robert Zemeckis

-Character Profile: Garfield

-A Look Back at Nickelodeon Nicktoons

-a Tribute to Dr. Seuss

-Character Profile: the Rugrats

-Character Profile: Wallace & Gromit

-Top 11 Worst TV Shows of All Time

-A Look Back at The Simpsons

& my final idea:

-Top 11 Favorite Desserts (like when you did Favorite Cheeses)

Well, those are some suggestions I have in mind. You think about them &/or tell me what you think. That's all.

Well, I do have a Character Profile of Garfield planned along with a tribute to Dr Seuss. I will take the others into possible consideration (though I can't guarantee a look back at The Simpsons, look backs at Futurama and South Park are more likely), but a top 11 worst television shows isn't likely, seeing as it would probably filled with one reality show after another. :P

I hate to repeat history, but I would like to see a Look Back At Thunderbirds (with a special guest).

Please review One Crazy Summer. It's a really hilarious feature and it's one of my personal favorites.

I have a couple requests. How about:

-A tribute to Rob Reiner

-A tribute to Terry Gilliam

-Character Profile: Eric Cartman

-A look back at Marvel Comics

& finally:

-Character Profile: Horton the Elephant

Those are some requests. Hope you like them.

(by the way, my Q&A video will be posted today. Look out for it!)

After seeing your Character Profile series, there is one duo you have greatly overlooked that I think deserves a mention. Three words:

Rocky and Bullwinkle!!!!

Ah, yes. I remember Rocky and Bullwinkle. I really liked those characters and I think they hold up quite nicely. I also don't think the live-action film was as bad as people made it out to be, as incredibly silly as it was. I will definitely consider them.

By the way, here are the future Character Profiles I have planned or am thinking of doing (though these could change):

Winnie the Pooh
Jose Carioca
Spider-Man
Terrance and Philip
Dilbert
Pink Panther
