DID YOU JUST CALL THE VILLAIN OF SONIC THE HEDGEHOG DR. EGGMAN? HIS NAME IS DR. ROBOTNIK!!!!

Correction: In Japan, he is known as Doctor Eggman. Over here, it was Ivo Robotnik. It wasn't until his Japan name was reinstaed in 1999's Sonic Adventure when the character was called both "Doctor Robotnik" and "Doctor Eggman" in the English version.Yuji Naka has explained that "Robotnik" is the character's real name while "Eggman" is a "common name taken after his shape." Despite this, the Japanese Sonic Channel profile listed his full name as unknown.

Is that the PBS show where the wooly mammoth is retelling tales of a caveman that discovered stuff like the wheel, the pully, and other things. And the mammoth is voiced by Jim Cummings (Eggman from Sonic SAT AM, Cat from CatDog, that firefie from Princess and the Frog) and stuck in modern times.

1. Yes

Correction, it was ABC and aired for only 20 episodes due to it's low popularity.

Well, let me ask, what do you think is the better name? Personally, I think it's Dr. Robotnik. Eggman is not something one can take seriously. That, & you even just said that Robotnik is his real name & that Eggman is a nickname based off of his shape. So, in conclusion, let's just call him Dr. Robotnik. Is that alright?

Why in the name of all things sacred do people need to argue and debate over Robotnik/Eggman's name? He's a video game character! There is no purpose that can aid mankind in any way by deciding what his name is. He's the same character that appeared in 1991, and his name is not frigging important! This goes to Danny and anyone else who goes on about the debate: Get over it! There are people refusing to buy the new game because his name is Eggman in that! How frigging stupid! He's the same character, and the name of the character doesn't constitute a single percentage over the game's quality standard. What matters is gameplay, controls and replay value. Not graphics, not music, and especially NOT CHARACTER NAMES!!! The same thing goes for any form of Sonic-related media. Whatever his name is, he is still the same character, and nothing will change that. There is no change in anything, and never has been, even before the whole debate began. The only reason that this has caused such controversy is because of people who say that what they think is law. If people are going to fight over a character's name, then that person's position in the Sonic fanbase isn't worth a penny! Call him what you will, but this argument stops here. It holds no purpose and will only result in arguments and name-calling. Before that happens, end the subject now. Robotnik/Eggman's name is not important. Just watch the cartoons, play the games and once again, Get over it!
