I accept that Sega are trying something new with each new Sonic game to keep the series fresh, but there are certain fans out there who bitch and moan till they're blue in the mouth. Since the unveiling of Sonic 4 (a game that I'm waiting anxiously for) and the leaked gameplay footage of it, these "fans" have started a petition against it.
This is the most stupidest petition I've ever seen. All these "fans" are going to 'teach Sega a lesson' by buying Sonic 1 instead of Sonic 4 upon it's release date. Now where do I begin?
Firstly, they're still supporting Sega by buying Sonic 1 thus funding them for other projects.
Second, this is all based on a 3 second gameplay clip in a trailer and leaked gameplay footage on the 'Alpha' version of the game, so it's pretty obvious that the game is incomplete.
Third, they keep stating 'we as fans'. There maybe a few dozen of you who have something against a game we know little about but not everyone is on your side.
Fouth, I think we got to point where we can't push Sega any further. We wanted a 2D Sonic game (apart from me, all I asked for was a new Sonic game) and now they've put in their ear-plugs and locked the door and won't be coming out until the game's release to hear our feedback.
Finally, the last petition I heard was the Left 4 Dead 2 Boycott and look how that turned out. All these L4D fans claiming that they wouldn't play L4D2 when its released but look what happened, every signed petitioner ended up playing the game.
So there was a lesson to learn; you can't petition against a giant in the video game industry.
Sorry if this seem a bit much but these so called 'Sonic fans' are really starting to piss me off
