Trouble, folks. VGRetro is in serious trouble. I don't know what to do about this. You see, I've been pressured by a company to finish my Tales of Pieutira script. Since the comic is around 120 pages, I have to write a whole script, and I've been given only a few weeks. To set up a whole new set and series for VGRetro isn't gonna be easy... But why trouble myself if I don't have to do it?
Now I'm not trying to retire the character again, but here's the problem: To make a VGRetro episode, I have to buy requested games, by new recording and microphone equipment, record all the games, write scripts, perform them, narrate them and then edit them together. That takes a lot of time and money off me.
On the other hand, I have a new programme in the works called TV Time, which focuses on old school TV shows, mostly good, and some bad. That show has a better potential, as few people focus on TV, while too many people focus on video games. You've seen an example of TV Time from my "Retro Remembers" episode of Superted. That has been very successful, because I made fun of the show while I praised it, it was easier to make jokes, but as it's a childhood classic, it got a positive review from me, and many people are now looking into the show.
There's more to talk about, and more of an audience to attract, so why don't I just go into that? I can do the occasional VGRetro episode, which works better, for people will look forward to them more. TV Time will require less work, because I don't have to make the shows before I write scripts. I think that as I may not be able to get the reception I got with VGRetro when it started, and I don't even have any working game recording equipment, it would be more interesting to start something new.
However, that's all down to you: I'm putting it down to a vote. If you want me to do a new series of VGRetro, post the vote onto this topic. If you wish to take a risk and allow me to do something new, vote for TV Time in a post. I will give you until the 31st of November, because I can spend December on pre-production for the series that wins the votes.
And for VGR fans, before jumping straight into voting for the show, think about it first. TVTime could be an opportunity to uncover many great gems from the golden age of TV along with me. It shouldn't all be about Video Games, but if that's what you want, vote for VGRetro, but please, think about it first. If you vote for TV Time, I will still do the occasional VGRetro. Wouldn't it be better to wait for an episode and then be surprised when you get one? Usually, that makes for better viewing, trust me.
Note to Thatfellow: Can you announce this on the main site and the Youtube Trailer videos? The more people I can gather to vote the better. Thanks.
Good voting, people.
