The Future for VGRetro

Postby VGRetro » Thu Nov 05, 2009 11:45 pm

I have stated on my wikia page that after making 65 episodes of VGRetro, I'll end the series. I am just mentioning it here so that other people are aware of my plans. I've come up with this plan, because I want to end it before it becomes stale. Fear not though, because I have decided to do reviews monthly, so it'll be about 2014 by then, so it'll be a long, long time before the show ends.

For the 65th, and final review, I will review the game that is my most anticipated request. So far, my most anticipated request for a game is kind of predictable, but in the coming years, that'll hopefully change.

But does this need to be a forum topic? Well, you can voice your opinion on my plans if you wish, that's what the forums are for.

Please don't end your series. I really enjoy your game reviews. Besides, the Angry Video Game Nerd has more than 65 videos & you are a much better reviewer than he is, mainly due to your optimism, good reviews, knowledge, & not being incredibly vulgar. Please keep the show on as long as you can. Think about it. Oh, & I can't wait for your next review.

Here's an idea, if you love Rocket Knight Adventures so much, why not review that in episode 64, seeing as episode 65 is likely to be Gunstar Heroes...

I'll tell you now, Gunstar Heroes, though a highly requested game, will not be my last review. Try not to guess out loud, but it's a very predictable one.

Correct, Morgan. You keep something running for a long time, then it's gonna start getting silly. Simpsons is a fine example. Anyway. it's not like I'm just gonna so a basic review and that's that, there'll be a big finale for episode 65. That episode may be an hour long, but that's five years away, so I'm not going into it now.

For the coming years, everyone should just enjoy the show, because next year, I'm really gonna spice things up.

People on the internet need to realise that, like you say, all good things need to come to an end. We can't keep doing the same thing. I'll bet Doug Walker and James Rolfe will agree with me, one day their shows will have to end too.

I am already planning the for the future, what to do after VGRetro. I'll probably do a video game related sitcom based on the VG Bros. No more reviews after this show comes to an end. In fact, I will definately stick to this: after VGRetro is finished, I'm retiring from video game reviewing. I've got a whole life ahead of me, I don't want to be remembered just for doing that. I trust other reviewers will agree with me?

You don't have to retire from games reviews, just don't do them all the time. I have plans to start my own underground game company making games for the Mega Drive and Super Nintendo, yet I'd also like to open an animation studio as well!
