I've just had a thought. Are you interested in reviewing Thunderbirds?

Well, I want to go through some of the series again, but doing a look back at Thunderbirds wouldn't be out of the question.

Just don't ask me to review the live-action version. I'm still having nightmares from that horrible bit of horrible-ness.

I'm with you Mr. Fellow. If you want Thunderbirds, make it puppets & not live-action garbage made up of bright colors. But, it's a good thing Team America: World Police understood this, as that movie was hilarious.

The live action version? I wouldn't dare! I consider that film to be in the same category as Titanic animated and Star Wars Holiday Special: It doesn't exist! Thunderbirds was a British show, and no offence to anyone, but when an American director gets a hold of something British, they Americanise it and destroy it. It was Thunderbirds, but it looked more like Power Rangers. It's like how James Bond now looks more like a Die Hard movie. When Thunderbirds was first released way back in 1964, nobody in America believed Britain could be behind something like that, and that's why it was so famous: It was an unbeatable masterpiece.

Also, have I mentioned that my friend Niki 17 has met Gerry Anderson twice, and even got his copy of Lavender Castle autographed by him?

No, you never mentioned that.

Another reason that Thunderbirds came out all wrong in the live-action version is that when Jonathan Frakes was offered to direct the film, he never even heard of the original series. Yet, he still decided to take it and wreck it! Sure, J.J. Abrams never watched an episode of Star Trek before he directed the new film (which I loved, by the way), but at least he was familiar with it and understood the mythology, characters and fanbase when he signed on. Frakes just directed that thing with no respect to Anderson or the fanbase. This is especially evident when he throws all but one of the Tracy family members onto Thunderbird 5 and keeps them there through the whole film.

Yeah, that sucks. And my biggest problem was that the Hood was the big bad guy in the film. The Hood never had a grudge with Jeff Tracy, he was a terrorist who wanted to use the plans of International Rescue for diabolical purposes. Also, he never even met International Rescue personally, like he never visited the island or anything. In fact, out of the 32 episodes, he only appeared in about 6, if I recall! There were plenty of other villains who could appear, like Dr. Godber, Warren Grafton, or even the Zombites! Yes, the Hood stands out as the basic villainous figure in Thunderbirds, but that doesn't mean he sholuld always be the main villain. Ever seen Thunderbird 6? We got a new and original villain in that: The Hood, if he appeared in it at all, was only a henchman.

Gerry Anderson (the creator of Thunderbirds) publically hated the film
